Sad that Simon & Schuster has published this racist book. In it, Richard Cohen, the Washington Posts liberal columnist, writes in literal praise of ethnic cleansing: A thoroughly admirable humanitarian policy was firmly set -- sometimes violated -- and secular Jews brimming with the smug righteousness that they thought was the essence of Judaism -- no skullcaps and forelocks and wives walking a deferential step or two behind their husbands -- created a state in which, in the not-unforeseeable future, Jews might become a minority. This policy, this refusal to engage in a policy of population transfer or ethnic cleansing so that Israel would be as free of Arabs as Hungary is of Romanians or Turkey is of Greeks, has left Israel in mortal peril. It was a mistake.
