Sad to hear about the death of Tony Benn, first politician I ever saw give a speech, when I was a teenager. I had up to that point called myself a socialist, but after I saw him speak, I knew a bit more why. I went out and searched for anything he had written, first was a diary, which I found hard going, then I fell upon Arguments for Socialism, which my teenage self devoured. Few politicians inspire, when they are alive let alone when they are dead. He is was one who continues to do both.
