Sad to hear about the passing of Robin … I do have a feel good - TopicsExpress

Sad to hear about the passing of Robin … I do have a feel good moment to share regarding Robin. Years back I had the opportunity to meet him and had the delightful honor of being able to supply him with some information regarding our then local politicians that he ended up using as part of his comedy skit that evening. This was a high brow audience consisting of the governor & mayor and many others of business, political, and social prominence. All were there attending a huge cancer benefit at the Grand Ole Opry House hosted by Sarah Cannon (Minnie Pearl). Well, lets just say that Robin used the privy info supplied to him and really pushed the envelope with it! HAHAHA! All I remember seeing is men double-overed laughing and silver haired ladies in mink stoles with appalled looks of horror on their faces…! He pulled no comedic punches and brought vulgarity to a new celestial plateau that evening.. After Robins performance I recall Minnie Pearl saying to him on stage with a polite toned voice, but with an overtone of I could ring your neck … Robin….(as she worked up a polite smile and shook her finger) Youve been a baaaaaad boy… He just shrugged his shoulders and and said in that funny Robin Williams fast talking voice… Ahhh Minnie, I dont know what came over me… :-) Well, all Ill say is… he was a bad boy that made you laugh real good! …. and sadly and almost overwhelmingly tragic, I doubt that well ever witness such a comedy genius again in our lifetime …. RIP Robin Williams
