Sad to learn that one of our (inactive) members has passed away. Joann Renn Allen was active in Second Baptist during her youth. Our sympathies and prayers go out to her family and friends. Obituary below: JoAnn Michelle Allen (Renn), died unexpectedly in her home on November 16, 2014, in Norfolk, VA, at the age of 38. JoAnn is survived by her husband, Peter Andrew Allen; father, Timothy Edwin Renn (Dianne Renn); her brother, Timothy Michael Renn (Vanessa Renn); her nephews, Thomas and Jonathan; her sister, Ashley Christine Renn; her grandmother, Patricia Schindel Renn; her aunt, Joanne Madeline Renn; her uncle, John Thomas Ramsey, Jr. (Patty); cousins, J T Ramsey III and Sarah Ramsey. She is preceded in death by her mother, Donna Ramsey Saunders of Petersburg, VA. JoAnn was born on August 30, 1976, in Virginia Beach, VA. She graduated from Dinwiddie Co. High School in 1993, from St. Leo College in 1997 and from Webster University with a Masters in Community Counseling, 2000. JoAnn was employed at Marine Repair Services in Portsmouth as an account manager. JoAnn was a friend to anyone she met and saw the good in all people. She gave endlessly of herself, pouring her heart and life into everyone she cared about. She will be greatly missed by all who were touched by her love. The family will celebrate her life in private and wish to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Condolences may be offered to the family at hollomon-brown.
