Sad to report that 2749 RCACC is disbanded after 51 years. The corps was the only one in Inuvik. It was once thriving but now is gone. So what happened? Their former CO explains: Good Morning, […] FYI, thank you for what you’re doing. It’s about time that RCSU NW started being held accountable. I resigned as CO from Inuvik which meant another corps lost. No one willing to run it... I gave a year’s notice of my resignation of which I stated in my 4 page resignation letter my reason for resigning. Lack of support, CUTP, lack of training, over the top with bureaucrats in Winnipeg, and career cadets trying to educate me on what real life is...(ya ok....) They had a year to find a replacement, I did try as well but their solution was to post on the cadet Facebook page locally and call two locals all of which laughed at them, and said Why would we want that added stress of having to deal with you? (Ad-lib a bit but point is there).. Therefore there is no cadet program left in Inuvik and 2749 has shut down.. For a community of 2000 people its a big hit, and sadly I have taken most of the blame for resigning from the locals. I gave 8 years of service as the CO and it was fine until RCSU North (Whitehorse) was taken over by RCSU NW (Winnipeg.) Thought you ought to know.
