Saddam Hussein’s daughter: we will fill the vacuum of power in ISIS-held cities Dr. Salah Al-Mukhtar, an ardent Ba’athist diplomat under the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, revealed that a secret meeting gathered between Raghad Saddam Hussein- the eldest daughter of the former President of Iraq- and Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, the notorious former Iraqi vice-president in Amman, the capital of Jordan. “…In a very near future, ISIS forces will retreat from areas they had occupied in Mousl and Nineveh provinces in northern Iraq and we (Ba’athist remaining forces loyal to late Saddam Hussein )will take control of those two strategic cities,” Dr. Al-Mukhtar quoted the daughter of former Iraqi president as saying in the Amman clandestine meeting. Once the ISIS forces retreat from northern and western Iraqi provinces, the international and Iraqi public opinions will perceive the U.S.-led airstrikes against ISIS militants as spectacularly successful and subsequently the Ba’athist forces will manage to fill the vacuum, added Raghad Hussein. We shall reap the harvest that ISIS sowed in the Middle-East and we shall revive our dignity by establishing the Ba’athist government once again, underlined the doyenne of Iraqi rebels. It was in mid-June when Ba’athist rebels in a bloodthirsty alliance with ISIS Jihadists overrun large swaths of territories in northern and western Sunni-populated areas but secular Ba’athists sought to remain behind the scenes and prepare the groundwork in a bid to wrest the control of the Sunni heartland.
