Sadly, I found out last night that an old colleague of mine passed away yesterday. I had the pleasure of engineering sound for Captain Herb on many occasions from 2004-2007. From live promotions at retail stores around the city, the WSB care-a-thon, Clark Howards Habitat for Humanity builds, to working track side with him and Herman Cain for Atlanta Motor Speedways nascar events. He was a good man, great talent to work for, and a entertaining, funny, awesome, stand up guy. Atlanta Radio has lost a legend. A legend Im proud to have worked for and with, a man Im glad I knew personally, and a friend Im glad that I made. At one nascar event I had explained how much my father loved nascar while shooting the shit with Herb. This guy went out if his way to get my dad pit passes so that he and I could enjoy the nascar experience together from the track. That was my best memory of him. Thank you Herb for being your loving self and providing smiles and memories to be had for an eternity. This last checkered flag is for you buddy!
