Sadly not surprised to hear of someone being king hit and killed up our end of the coast last night. Dean and I were abused and had fists raised to us by 4 idiots looking for a fight last night when we were soberly going to get pizza at 10pm in Maroochydore, and it was barely a notable event. A few hours later and someone was dead a few hundred metres from where we were. Violence and aggression have become a part of life and on this weekend and last, two people have been killed in places my friends and I frequent at night. I wish we called the cops on those idiots that abused us last night. Our home towns are no longer safe and its up to us to break the cycle and not accept violence and intimidation as a part of life. It needs to stop. Violence at home needs to stop, too. Im sick of hearing about kids and wives being beaten up as a matter of course. Violence at home causes violence in the streets. Everyone talks about leaving a better planet for our kids; lets try to leave better kids for our planet. This has to stop with us. Set an example. Report violence. Teach kids (and friends) non-violent strategies to deal with anger. Be kind. My heart breaks for the families waking up with the worst imaginable news this morning, just like those other families did last weekend. Sad, sad world.
