Sadly offered for sale is my 14.1, 14 year old grey Connemara type pony club all rounder and best friend. Ciaran needs no introduction to the South Wold North PC, he has been a member of numerous Novice show jumping teams for the past two years including Area. He has been to rallys and to camp. He comfortably jumps a course of 90cm and will do dressage but it is not his favourite, (he is like me; he doesn’t see the point and gets bored!) he prefers to be out jumping. He has won and been placed at cross country competitions and he loves to go hunting. Ciaran will go at what ever speed you want him to go at, slop along on a long rein or gallop along the beach (he is amazing!) I ride him in a three ringed snaffle on the second ring, he occasionally gets strong but he is never unmanageable. He is good in open spaces even in a gang and will hack out on his own although he prefers company whether that is another horse or mum on her bike! He does not rear or spin, he bucks once a year. He is great in traffic. He is good to box in a trailer (never tried him in a lorry, but we would not anticipate a problem), On the whole he is good to shoe providing the farrier is calm and quiet. (We have only ever had front shoes on him, he is barefoot behind. ). He is lovely to handle and is very polite never pushy or bargy. He loves to be groomed and stands all day. (He’s not keen on anyone hanging off his ears but they can be groomed and he accepts his bridle with no problems.) He can be a fidget when it comes to bath times, you just have to be prepared to have a bath as well! But he is great jumping in and out of water or into the sea!. He is good to have his mane pulled. He is not however, good to clip, he finds it very stressful and for his comfort and handlers safety he needs to sedated by the vet. He will live in or out, currently out in the day and in at night. Sometimes, he can be cheeky to catch, but we keep his headcollar on and always go to get him with a bribe! (carrot). He is wary of strangers and takes time to get to know you. He is up to date with teeth (good to do) worming and vaccinations. He has never been sick or lame. Ciaran has taught me so much about horses and riding, he has taken me from being a riding school rider to a competent pony clubber. He is ready to teach someone else the ropesas I have very sadly outgrown him. We do not know much about his past, but suspect he has been ill treated at some point because of his occasional slightly nervous reactions to the farrier/clipping/ears/strangers. We have told all there is to tell about Ciaran ‘warts and all’ as he is very special to us and the right home is the top priority. He would suit a mother and child share. Only 5* kind homes please for this awesome lovely boy. Inbox me for more details (price, etc) or text me on 07800967766
