Sadly, there are some people in your life, who are out to get you. They are like King Saul with a javelin (spear) in their hand and they are willing to nail you to the wall with their hateful words of condemnation. And then, there are the few who are willing to speak life into you. Sometimes, the truth about us can really hurt but pain is only gain. "Faithful are the wounds of a friend, then the kisses of an enemy." There are times within our lives that we as Christians need to be confronted and rebuked over our ways. However, the motive of Church discipline should be Love! But, what about the people found within the first group? How are we to treat them? The Lord Jesus commanded his disciples to "Love your enemies." Love them, seek to bless, pray for them, do good to them, and even go the second mile for them. This is naturally hard for all of us, because we are not yet perfect. However, let us all remember something here, "their sin against you, in no way compares, to your sin against Christ!" If you have been truly forgiven then there is no reason for feelings of bitterness towards a believer in Christ or even an unbeliever!
