Sadly, this is Captian America as my son has named him (his barn name is captian). Copper Blue Chip is his papered name. Captian came to us a little over a week ago and my heart breaks for him. Captian is a Standardbred Race Horse approximatly 22 years old. He has a heart of gold. We cannot figure out why or how he is still alive. He has kidney function, and he actually pooped! Which means that he is finally getting some nutrients into his system. This Money winning racehorse has found his way to us thankfully. Another few days and he may not have made it. Captian is the reason for my Thrive iniative. He has such a will to live. At this time he has only been on hay and a little beet pulp the last few days. We had to stop the beet pulp as you need to have nothing but hay and fresh water for 24 hours before starting thrive. Captian will make it! He is the most loving old man I have ever seen. I hope we can all celebrate his recovery. He has already gained weight in the last week. I cant wait to see what we can do for him. Thrive Feed Free Feed day 1. 11/1/14.
