Sadly, this is too true. Im thankful for parents who allowed me to make mistakes and deal with the consequences rather than bail me out or keep me in a bubble. I am amazed (daily) at the expectation of young people to earn perfect grades for imperfect homework, to be excused for their irresponsible actions (or inactions) just because, and to be given everything for the price of nothing. We succeed and excel when we are pushed beyond what we think we can do and when challenged we will rise to the occasion. Tragically, no one is pushing or challenging young people. They can do amazing things if we are willing to let them live and learn!
