It is laudable that he tried to overcome thus situation with the use of excessive force, as he saw it but I believe in these circumstances he would have been totally justified in useing lethal force. I would rather have one potentially dead armed criminal that a dead policeman. This is nowhere near the same as American police shootings where it seems that being black or even looking at a cop justifies lethal action. Anyone who refuses to disarm after being ordered to do so, must expect suitable action being taken against them. I hope this officer recovers from his wounds.
