Safeguard American Food Exports Act S541 & Hr1094 is stuck in committees in the Senate and House full of politicians coming up for re-election in 2014. If you were going to donate to their campaigns, tell them you wont unless they co-sponsor S541 | HR1094. Let the name of this act remind you to stress that food safety is a primary concern of yours and is a National issue! The USDA has never enforced its own rules and regulations against the foreign horse slaughters plants before these plants closed down -- what makes us sure they will enforce them again? Why is an animal not grown in the meat pipeline all of a sudden safe to eat? Why do American taxpayers have to pay for something with our tax dollars that we know isnt safe to eat and has no benefit to the local or national economy. Congress has been cutting budgets in the wrong places. Cutting horse slaughter out of the budget by making it illegal is something they should support. Dont forget - PUT IT IN A HANDWRITTEN LETTER - - THEY DONT CARE ABOUT PETITIONS! They care about votes and campaign donations. These two bills expire in January 2015.
