Safety Coordinator Seymour, IN Establishes and promotes the maintenance of a safe, accident free, and healthy work environment. Ensures safety policies and programs are effective in helping to prevent accidents and injuries throughout the company by performing the following duties personally or through assistant personnel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Formulates company safety policies and procedures that are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). • Inspects company facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated. • Develops, supervises, coordinates, and conducts training programs which increase employee proficiency in safe practices and promotes safety consciousness. • Conducts safety meetings with management and supervisory personnel to discuss current safety hazards and amend safety policy. • Consults with all departments on design and safe use of equipment, tools, and devices. • Obtains and files material safety data sheets (MSDS) on all chemicals used in the plant. • Directs company Hazard Communication, Lockout Tagout, Forklift, and other various safety programs • Investigates all accidents, compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies or insurance company, and endeavor to solve problems that contributed to each accident. • Investigate employee safety complaints and act as intermediary between employees and management in correcting hazardous safety situations. • Administer workers compensation claims and Return to Work Program • Maintain OSHA 300 Logs Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook • Detail oriented, self-motivated and reliable • Ability to multi-task, take direction and work with minimal supervision • Willingness to travel as needed • Good organizational skills Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor Degree Required (Preferably Safety & Health)
