Safety Rules Set for Fish Fry Parade From WENK Radio Paris, Tenn.-Public safety is of utmost concern at this year’s World’s Biggest Fish Fry grand parade and with that in mind, Paris Police Department Chief Chuck Elizondo Monday outlined new rules for this year’s parade. Chief Elizondo said the rules have always been in place, but will be emphasized this year. There will be no bikes, ATVs, skateboards, skates, mini bikes on the route unless part of the parade or authorized, such as for use by Jaycees, EMS, Rescue Squad, and law enforcement. Elizondo said law enforcement will be watching for and prohibiting unsafe activity, such as the use of backpacks. Additionally: --No pets will be allowed on the parade route unless part of the parade. --Band judging trailer and dignitary stand must be kept clear during the parade. --At Pennsylvania Ave and Wood Street officers will be oon hand to assist dignitaries across to the dignitary stand. --No candy will be thrown from parade entrants. --Vendors will be checked for ribbons and permits. --No poppers will be sold or thrown on the parade route. --Private drives and intersections on the parade route must be kept clear. --Intersections must be ready to be opened in case of emergencies. --After the parade, all vehicles are to be removed as soon as possible. If assistance is needed along the route, police officers on ATVs are to be called for assistance.
