Safety Sunday Shot #19 Happy Sunday everyone! Here is the latest installment in the series on safeties! Here we have a game of 9 ball and we are out of shape on the 8 ball. We could try a bank shot in the side or corner pocket but we know what happens if we miss, we lose, so why chance it. This shot is what I like to call a double chance safety, there are 2 results possible but if you get just 1 of them you will probably be ok! What we want to do is put 3 tips of left hand english on the cue ball and cut the 8 ball on the left side with a pretty slow speed because the english will accelerate the cue ball off of the rail. Here are the 2 goals we are looking for: 1-Leaving the 8 ball frozen to the end rail and getting the cue ball to the opposite end of the table leaving them no shot but a risky bank. 2-Seeing the 9 ball is sitting there try to get the cue ball right up behind it so they do not have a straight shot at the 8 ball! So if you get 1 of the 2 there will be a good chance you will get up to the table again, but if you nail both of them you will have a GREAT chance of getting back up again and a better chance to beat them with a stick:) Have a great day and good luck out there!
