Sahih Bukhari – Book 2. Belief. Hadith No: 002:007: Narrated Ibn ‘Umar (RATU): Allah’s Apostle (SAW) said, “Islam is based on the following five principles: They are:- 1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped, but Allah and Muhammad (SAW) is Allah’s Apostle. 2. To offer the five (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly. 3. To pay Zak’at (i.e. obligatory charity). 4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca). 5. To observe fast during the month of Ramdhan. Hadith No: 002:008: Narrated Abu Huraiyrah (RATU): The Prophet (SAW) said, “Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts) and ‘Haya’ (Haya covers a large number of cocepts, which are to be taken together amongst them are selfrespect, modesty, bashfulness and scruple, etc.) is a part of faith. Hadith No: 002:009: Narrated Abdullah bin ‘Amr (RATU): The Prophet (SAW) said, “A Muslim is the one who avoids harming Muslims with his tongue and hands. And a Muhajir (emigrant) is the one who gives up (abundons) all what Allah has forbidden.”
