Said farewell to my friend today. I posted this to her wall - December 18th 2014 Darling Bec. It was impossibly sad to say goodbye to you today. You would have been so proud of your boys. And your family. My other family. This family of ours has been part of my life since I was a little girl, since all us kids were little kids. you were kind of like a big sister - I never had one, but you were kind of like the big sister I never had. You were surrounded with love today as we came to say goodbye to you; and every single person in the packed St Stephens Church gave thanks for having had you in their ~ our ~ lives. As Nick said, one of your special qualities was the ability to love someone, to be accepting of them, no matter their religious, political or cultural persuasion. You truly were one of the most generous-hearted, loving people to have graced the lives of many. Of us; of our lives. Thank you Becca for being such a beautiful person, friend, sister, mother, daughter, partner. I still cannot believe you have gone. The shock is as raw as the fact of you no longer being here. Life is too short and I just wished I had lingered a little longer when I hugged you goodbye the other day. The last day I saw you. Not realising - as none of us did - that would be the last time we would see you. Our hearts are broken Becca. We miss you so very much. But we are so very very very glad to have had you in our lives. Miss you beautiful lady. Until we meet again....
