Sail on, my wonderful friend... Your kindness and warmth will always be remembered. I have imagined your music with Coconut Dave and Troy Allen in Heaven. God has an amazing band. My heart goes out to your family and prayers for them too. My Hugo Duarte story is short... During a gig at Hogs Breath Saloon in Key West, two years ago, a woman who had obviously had way too much to drink, started pushing people around on the dance floor, right in front of Hugo. Hugo stopped in the middle of a song, addressed her directly to her face and advised her that if he saw her pushing and shoving one more time, he was personally getting down off that stage and removing her drunk ass from the bar. She left right then and there and the place erupted with applause for his actions. Hugo hopped back on stage and picked up right where he left off. My hero! ...and a month after David died, while in Key West to scatter his ashes, we were at Blue Heaven for Sunny Jims water tower party. Hugo came up to me, expressed his sorrow for my loss, gave me a warm hug, and told me he was there for me if I needed a friend. I will never forget that moment. Sail on, Hugo. Give David and Troy hugs from me please. Rest in peace. And go to the well...
