Sailors making a difference *********** AC2 Mike McCastle, a NAS - TopicsExpress

Sailors making a difference *********** AC2 Mike McCastle, a NAS Whidbey Sailor, did 3,202 pull-ups recently in an attempt to break the world record for pull-ups in a 24 hour period. In the process he raised almost $10,000 for Wounded Warrior Project. After 19-and-a-half hours, McCastle fell 828 short of the official world record for pull-ups, but had to stop at 1:30 a.m. when he realized he had injured himself. Despite failing to reach the record, McCastle raised more than $9,300 for the Wounded Warrior Project. More importantly, we successfully brought local and national awareness to wounded servicemen and women and the help they deserve and earned. Please know that I left everything I had on that bar and I wouldnt have gone on live news and media if I didnt think I could do it, McCastle continued. I have no excuses. Its all on me. Perhaps my strategy was miscalculated or I plain and simple just was not prepared enough. I did my best nonetheless. Many lessons learned from this failure like my many other failures in my life. I rarely get things on the first try but one thing is certain . I never give up. ******** Bravo Zulu Shipmate. You raised money for a good cause and challenged yourself mentally and physically. That may not be a win in the book of world records, but its definitely a win in our book!
