Saint Jane Frances of Chantal was born on 28th January 1572 AD. Mother of 6 children of whom 3 died shortly after their birth, became a widow at the tender age of 28. She was influenced by the preaching of St. Francis De Sales and was inspired by him to start the Order of Visitation of Holy Mary. Thus she had the unique privilege of becoming wife, mother, nun and founder of an order. She died on 13th December 1641 AD. She was beatified by Pope Benedict XIV on 21st November 1751 AD. She was canonised on 16th July 1767 AD by Pope Clement XIII. She is the patron saint of the widows. Earlier her feast was celebrated on 12th December but on 25th March 1999 AD Pope John Paul II allotted this date to Our Lady of Guadalupe and transferred the feast of Jane Frances to 12th August.
