Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) remained sidelined on Tuesday. He looks like a long shot to play against the Panthers on Thursday night. Thatll mean another feature-back workload for Mark Ingram. Hes a strong RB2 in the plus matchup. Redskins HC Jay Gruden said Tuesday that QB Robert Griffin (ankle) is very, very, very close to returning. (A 4th very would have made him a lock to play against the Vikings this weekend.) Gruden added that the doctors want to make sure hes healed and the team doesnt want to rush him back. The coach expects to make a decision on his Week 9 QB after Wednesdays practice. Were still betting on Washington holding Griffin out through next weeks bye, but he has a chance to play this Sunday. Panthers HC Ron Rivera said RB DeAngelo Williams looked good in practice on Tuesday and will start Thursday nights game against the Saints. Its surprising and disappointing after RB Jonathan Stewart looked good the past 2 weeks. The 31-year-old Williams offers much less at this point of his career. Were still expecting Williams and Stewart to split backfield duties against New Orleans, but J-Stew now looks like more of a RB3 or flex for Week 9. Same goes for Williams. Lions HC Jim Caldwell said that hell use both Theo Riddick and Reggie Bush going forward. Riddick has clearly been the more effective player this season, averaging 11.5 yards per catch and scoring on 2 of his 13 grabs. Bush has averaged just 6.6 yards per catch without a TD (not to mention 3.5 yards per carry). Well have to see exactly how the workload is split between these 2 guys going forward, but Bush is becoming tough to trust in fantasy lineups. Riddick could be a RB3 or flex option if he can get 8-10 touches per game. Theres serious doubt about Giants RB Rashad Jennings Week 9 availability, according to insider Jordan Raanan. Jennings just resumed running on Monday and is hoping to do some cutting on Wednesday. That doesnt sound like a guy who will be ready to play against the Colts on Monday night. Look for Andre Williams to get another game as New Yorks lead back.
