Saints of Christ, be careful who you are listening to and whose speaking into your life, because the Word warned us what would happen in the last days... (2 Peter 2:1-3 ESV) But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. The scripture here says in their greed they will exploit you, and will introduce destructive heresies into the gospel, if thats the case then understand not everything they say will be false only some things will, but their motives will be less than pure... (Phil 1:15-17 ESV) Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. 16 The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17 The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition Knowing that this is the case we need to make sure that we are full of the word of God so that we wont be taken by the deceitfulness of cunning men unawares. The devil and his children will always mix truth with lies ... (Gal 1:6-7 ESV) I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. There are some that will say Jesus is Lord, Jesus said give me your rent money and youll be blessed a hundred fold. Dont be gullible people, but be full of truth... (John 17:17 ESV) Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. Not your pastor or prophet is truth, but your WORD is truth!
