Sajjad, Omar lock horns over Modi rally Javaid Naikoo Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 8: A war of words has ensued between Omar Abdullah and Sajjad Lone over the number of people present in Modi rally. Omar said Sajjad Lone sent 80 truckloads of people to attend the rally, an allegation which Sajjad vehemently denied. Omar also said that people from Jammu were ferried to the rally. Omar wrote on Twitter: 2 trainloads of supporters are being brought in from Banihal in Jammu. Why not just have the rally there? He also accused Peoples Conference (PC) chairman, Sajjad Lone for sending people in vehicles from his frontier District Kupwara to attend rally of PM Modi in Srinagar and wrote So @sajadlone is sending about 80 vehicles of supporters from Kupwara to help his big brother make up the numbers. Without naming anybody from Congress Omar also wrote that Amazingly even Cong supported leaders have been asked to contribute people to the BJP rally. Politics makes for strange bedfellows and added that Not a single BJP flag or banner on the vehicles or with the people I saw walking to the stadium. Such a telling sign of BJP support. Taking serious note of Omars allegations, Sajjad Lone denied sending people for Modis rally from his constituency and said that Omar despite being a new politician is a liar and praised Modi for succeeding in holding a rally in Srinagar. I thought Omar is a new generation politician who does not lie, he has lied through his tweet by saying I have sent supporters to attend the BJP rally in Srinagar today, he said. He said that he is not afraid of anyone and while praising Modi and denying to have send party supporters to attend the BJP rally in Srinagar, he said that if people were coming to attend Modis rally in Srinagar why should somebody like Omar Abdullah try and deny Modi the credit for the peoples attendance at his rally. Omar Abdullah who called Modi as elder brother of Sajjad reminded Sajjad Lone his own words when he met Modi last month and called him elder brother. Pertinently other mainstream politician of Jammu and Kashmir like Ghulam Nabi Azad who were astonished to see BJP activities in Kashmir to make rally meant PM Modi a successful event while giving vent to his feelings about BJP rally of Srinagar had earlier said that BJP was exaggerating figures and said that the stadium that is the venue for the rally cant host 1 lakh people. Once follower of separatist ideology Sajjad Lone recently was in news headlines after he had met Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in Delhi and while hailing the Indian Prime Minister had named him as elder brother.
