Salaam all, anyone whos interested (open to ALL courses), do write in! :D INTERNSHIP WITH THE EMERGING MARKETS DIVISION, MINISTRY OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY Job Title Analyst, Emerging Markets Division, Ministry of Trade and Industry Job Description As an Analyst, your job scope will include: · Assisting in formulating policies to grow economic relations with Sub-Saharan Africa · Researching on opportunities and challenges · Monitoring political and economic developments · Attending forums, networking events and workshops · Interacting with stakeholders ranging from businessmen to other ministries and statutory boards · Arranging Ministerial courtesy calls (meetings) and updating country briefs · Facilitating incoming visits of VIPs and government officials Specific projects that you will be involved in include: · Supporting the Africa Singapore Business Forum 2014 · Policy Paper reviewing the engagement efforts by international organizations such as the World Bank and IMF in Sub-Saharan Africa · Formulating a target list of political and business leaders that Singapore should engage and cultivate · Conducting focus groups to understand financing difficulties that our companies face · Research on potential trade agreements At the end of your internship, you will be expected to give a presentation on a research topic of interest, which will be discussed with your supervisor, and recommend ways Singapore can improve our engagement of a region/country. Pre-Requisites · The applicant should have an interest in the emerging markets, a strong sense of curiosity and an outgoing personality. The applicant should have good writing skills, basic excel knowledge and experience in organizing activities. · Open to all courses. · Year 2-4 (graduates are also welcomed) · Only Singaporeans need apply. · Relevant industry experience would be welcomed.
