Salam to all my brothers and sisters. As you all probably know by now that I have been nominated by my respectful brother and colleague his eminence Sh. Arif abdulhussain to take the ALS water bucket challenge. Firstly I would like to thank him for his courageous and charitable stand on this matter. However I am going to respectfully decline the offer and donate instead for such a noble cause and other worthy causes regardless of background, religion, gender or culture on the basis that the prophet said: No one shall attain faith until they love for others what they love for themselves and what imam Ali said: People are of two kinds, either your brother in faith or your equal in humanity The reason for declining to take the challenge is that In my humble opinion we do not need to simply respond to what is dictated upon us by social media networks and rather be pioneers and proactive in our own creative ways to help contribute for and raise funds for a noble cause such as fighting the ALS disease and other issues effecting people in need in other parts of the world. I ask all of you to contribute and help to eliminate this disease from this world and help other causes such as contributing to our brothers and sister in Gaza, Iraq, Pakistan, Lebanon etc. May Allah bless you all and I encourage you all to help and contribute for all such worthy causes. via Sh.
