Salaried employees are treated much better and have more perks and chances for promotions because these are the key employees. Relegating them to overtime only and cut back to non exempt status (hourly) makes them less likely to achieve. Also after an employer passes 50 employees the human resource laws become different as is the paperwork that is more costly. This move disincentivises employees after implemented and employers to hire, and provides less flexibility in a companies growth pattern which is needed to adjust incrementally. BAD IDEA! Salaried emps are treated much better as a whole.
