Saldana being cast as Nina Simone just makes no sense to me. I find it difficult to believe that there was not ONE African American and/or Black actress who didnt have a scheduling problem and could have starred in this feature Biopic as Nina Simone.Saldana does not even identify as Black - she is of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent. Dont get me wrong, I like Zoe Saldana as an actress; however, I just would have preferred that she didnt need a nose prosthetic or skin-darkening in order to play a role that so many other actors could have successfully portrayed. I have sincerely tried not to take issue with this, but no matter how I attempt to wrap my head around this. . .I just cant!
