Position Description Working in a team environment, the successful Sales Consultant is expected to have a broad knowledge of current IT mechanisms and practices in the following categories: software, hardware and services as well as a flare for business to business selling. One of the key responsibilities of a Sales Consultant is working with our clients and supporting them on maintaining their licensing compliance. The Sales Consultant is responsible with engaging clients on a regular basis,creating reports and analysing the client’s licensing situation, whilst applying AVTech’s best practices. Key Focus and Objective for Role: To help deliver AVTech’s strategy the successful candidate will be responsible for: • To understand and learn about the wide range of software, hardware and service products that are sold and supported by the company to the point of being able to configure and sell solutions to clients. • To respond to clients requests for software, hardware and services by understanding the clients current IT configurations and designing (at current best practice) and selling new software, hardware and services solutions that will satisfy their real, perceived and future needs. • Work with Business Development Managers to gather and analyse clients’ requirements to develop a good understanding of clients’ business; • Understand clients’ business and technology requirements to propose suitable solutions; • Maintain a high level of customer service, both internally and externally; • Assist to develop strong technical knowledge and understanding of • AVTech’s solution portfolio; • Complete technology training and certifications to develop wide and strong technology knowledge; • Assist to maintain effective and positive working relationships with organisations/clients to optimise business opportunities; • Manage supplier purchasing, including ETA negotiations and logistics; • Assist to develop sales/marketing strategies; • Act as first point of contact for all salesincoming enquiries • Proactive review and analysis of clients’ licensing environments and engaging with them to help understand the current license situations • Maintaining all licensing agreements forour valued clients • Negotiating and handling of licensing quotes and orders with both distributors and vendors • Be the Licensing Champion for the AVTech Sales Team • Creating customised reports on various licensing information at the request of management, to help make better marketing and sales decisions. Ability to justify and walk-through designed solutions for addressing clients IT needs. Knowledge of bid pricing and opportunity registration process Excellent presentation, time management, and communications skills Strong understanding of procurement cycle (quoting, purchase orders, back orders and invoicing) • Qualifications At least 2 years’ experience in IT hardware and software sales Tertiary qualification in IT and/or business (preferred not essential) • Personality Attributes Professionally presented; A positive, results oriented and customer focused attitude; A desire to take responsibility and ownership to see actions/issues through to completion; The ability to adapt to a changing environment that requires proactive and innovative solutions.
