Salim directed by Nirmal kumar, DOP Ganesh Chandra, Editing Rajesh Kumar, Music Vijay Antony. Starring Vijay Antony, Aksha. Genre: Action thriller. Sequel to: Naan. Story of a young doctor who believes in good deeds, karma, helping tendency stuffs and the obstacles he faces ultimately he takes a revenge on the guy (son of Home Minister) who raped a poor innocent girl. Though this flick stands as sequel to block buster Naan the content had failed to provide de grip factor. According to me, first half moves like a snail, I had to sit straight for firtst 15 mins and then little lowered myself and then stretched my legs and started to rest completely however I was still watching the movie expectig for an acceleration. The intermission block is appreciable but the screen letters appears with Salims photo and at the bottom the letters starts errupting like I and then N followed by T E R etc., to complete the word as Intermission as if we dont know its interval time. Bull shit, the movie is that slow as the letters appeared. Second half is little thrilling but just cant appreciate to an extent. Aksha comes and disappears. Maskara song is colorful, tempting and you will start humming it. Since the sequences in second half happens in a hotel and contol room it should have been sharpened more, I mean the dialogues, the speed, the trill and so on. Vijay Antony steps inside to bathroom twice when he is not drunk but what about the guys being kept as hostages whose tummy had already been filled with beers. They never want to use the restroom? Flaw 1: The cop who arrests Salim says that he will find and kill Salim after his escape from police station but the cop does nothing, he eventually disappears. Flaw 2: Towards climax home minister tries to kill Salim through an artificial accident. Car thats been travelled by Salim and the accused (Home Ministers son) was actually a BMW but after the accident the car rolls down from a small bridge and stops infront of the camera, I mean a close up shot and it turns into a Hyundai Verna. Grrrr. Plus: Songs, BGM, Vijay Antonys subtle acting, Cinematography. Minus: Slow flow of screenplay, content. This flick can still be watched in theatre with family once. Nothing much to blame. Whatso ever, a product from former associate director of Bharathiraja is different thou. Rating: ***1/2* (3.5 Stars)
