Salsa is traditionally viewed as a partner dance, while Hip Hop is - TopicsExpress

Salsa is traditionally viewed as a partner dance, while Hip Hop is viewed as being more of a solo enterprise. The truth of the matter, I believe, is that Salsa is a culture - or more accurately, a multi-plicity of cultures existing in various countries including: Latin America, the Caribbean, the United States and beyond. Likewise, Hip Hop is a multi-faceted culture where dance takes its place as a form of artistic expression alongside MCing, Graffiti artists, and DJaying. I therefore encourage people to both enjoy the merits and pleasures of traditional partner Salsa dancing, as well as solo Hip Hop dancing, as well as to feel free to dance by yourself to Salsa music, or with a partner to Hip Hop music. Ultimately, dancing is not about limiting yourself to traditional conventions. Traditions, rules, practices, etc. are intended to help us in our quest for happiness - not to stand in our way. My mission is to help you Find Your Flow - wherever it may be:
