Finally! After four years, petitions (signed by 11,400 Salt Lake residents), an Opinion Poll where 89% of Salt Lake City voters opposed Citizens United, finally Move to Amend has a Resolution! ... Signed jointly by Mayor Becker and the Salt Lake City Council. Salt Lake now joins over 600 cities in saying NO to unbridled campaign contributions. This was not an easy victory, but it marks not just a victory but the beginning of Phase Two where we will be working fiercely towards an ordinance for campaign finance reform. Join us as we show our strength in numbers Tuesday night. The resolution is at the top of the agenda so this will be enormously important but brief and sweet beginning at seven.
