Salute Mahatma Gandhiji ! who believed and practiced Cleanliness. It was only appropriate that on Mahatma Gandhijis Birthday, our initiative of Clean and Green Raheja Vihar under Swachh Bharat Mission initiative was started with hundreds of people of RV including, BS School children, Ladies, Senior Citizens a Dog owner with his two dogs, our erstwhile corporator Sharad Pawar, Staff of Matrix led by Khan and Rawat, Baccha party led by a child in pram. It was a grand success and we salute some of the senior citizen morning walkers who initiated this movement and started awareness from 26th Sept14 onwards The procession started around 7 40 AM with address to the gathering by Sri. Shuklaji and self explaining the need and the success depending on residents and the necessity to covert it into a peoples movement to sustain it. All gathered agreed to keep RV clean and educate others to do the same. The procession chanting Clean Raheja Green Raheja , Saff Raho Saff Rakho etc and carrying banners started from MCGM grpond - Hiilsisde- Westend - Vistas - BS School - Maple Leaf - Sales Office - Club House - Blue Heaven - Paradise- Sunset 1&2 - Golden Rays - Lakeside - Rainbow and back to the grounds. Shuklaji and self thanked all for their participation in large numbers and making the initiative a grand success. 3 cheers were raised for BS School, Senior Citizens, Ladies, and the great Bachha party. Refreshments were specifically given to the children and water was supplied to all. It was great to see families with small children joining the march as it passed their buildings showing their commitment to this movement Enthusiasm of the children were to be seen to be believed and they were excited to wear gloves and pick up the trash on the way with a competition among themselves to see whose trash bag has collected more. In spite of one hour and 1.5 to 1.8 Km long procession they looked fresh and voicyforous in shouting the slogans. Now we request all the residents of RV to come forward and help each other to keep our Raheja Vihar Clean and Green and make it a place to be proud of With hope and best wishes for Dassera to all Regards Ramaswamy Hon.
