Samarendra Patra, young poet, human rights activist and Young India Fellowship awardee visited Kings Public School of Semiliguda to-day to interact with the students of the School. After completing his B.Tech Degree from SRM University, Chennai, Samarendra right now is pursuing one year diploma in Leadership under Young India Fellowship at Ashoka University, New Delhi. On the initiative of Dr.Uma Sankar Prasad Patra,Lecturer of Semiliguda college and the invitation of the Principal of the Kings Public School T.N.Raju, Samarendra interacted with the students and encouraged them to study well and be a good citizen of this great country. He also gave an oath to the students to sacrifice their lives for the motherland. It is good to state that Samarendra had visited Europe to participate in World Poet Convention and International Human Rights Convention as a representative of India. His name has been included in Limca Book, India , 2012 as a young poet. He has also been felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governor of Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister of Odisha in the recent past. Dr.Uma Sankar Prasad Patra thanked the Principal of the school for inviting Samarendra to encourage their students. It is worth to mention that Samarendra has wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of India to meet him to take up the issues of Koraput like train connectivity from Koraput to New Delhi and improvement of health services of the district.
