Same story different cats; chances of finding a new home when you are a mature lady is challenging at the best of times. if you just so happen to be black and white and there are two of you, expect to wait even longer. Spot and Susie are a lovely pair that we made room for when their owners had to move into sheltered accommodation. Sometimes the reasons why pets arent allowed are legitimate - other times pets get caught in standard No Pets Policies which are implemented nationwide with little or no room for exceptions. If only more landlords would make that decision on a case-by-case basis - perhaps solving the problem by asking for a slightly higher deposit - fewer pets would be abandoned in already crowded shelters. The owners are almost always left devastated and sometimes with very little choice so of course we do our best to help. At the moment, Spot and Susie are waiting for someone to come and meet them and we are all keeping our fingers crossed that it might be their forever home. Other pairs are not so lucky though and finding homes for two mature cats together is always a challenge.
