Im not expecting everyone to call their Congressmen, attend rallies, donate money for humanitarian aid, organize events, and all that, BUT the least anyone can do is look into their conscience and share a message. Write a post. Share an article. A heartbreaking picture. You CANNOT imagine how many people do NOT know about whats going on. Its like we live in a bubble. People dont know. And our media isnt helping. A post on social media, a tweet, etc, can help. Raising awareness is the least we can do. I do not understand how people can claim to be apolitical or not political or neutral or say stuff like we dont want to say anything because we dont know a lot about it. Whats stopping you from finding out more? What type of excuses are those when people are being killed? Silence in the face of oppression is to take the side of the oppressor. Your Facebook is MORE than just a place for you to post a pic of your lunch or Iftar, its more than just a place for you to post a pic of you at the beach or with your cat, its more than just a place for you to leave it empty without anything. You have friends on Facebook. You have a TOOL to raise awareness and change peoples perceptions. USE IT. Make it beneficial. If thats the least we can do, then do it. Many friends have told me how what I post has made them more aware about whats going on in [any place]...it has benefits!! People, whose voices are left unheard, want - and deserve - their stories to be told. Take a stance. Stand up for whats right. I LOVE how many of my friends on Facebook who normally never or rarely posted anything political have started now. They got moved. Who cant get moved when kids are being shelled to death? I wish they started earlier. I wish the others can start now. I hope they wont forget the other innocent civilians killed. I hope we all can help pitch in and raise awareness about oppression all around the world, and in our neighborhoods, from Palestine to Syria to Burma to Tibet and Xinjiang to New York to Chicago to Iraq to Bahrain to Central African Republic to Congo to Detroit to........
