Samir Nasri has reportedly returned to training weeks ahead of schedule and could be back in action by the start of March. City hopeful on Nasri recovery The France international was expected to spend two months on the sidelines when he was stretchered off in the 2-0 win over Newcastle on January 14, scans later confirming he had damaged his medial knee ligaments. However, reports emerged on Monday suggesting Nasri was making a rapid recovery from his injury and was spotted at Citys training ground with a protective knee brace on. The 26-year-old is thought to have suffered no reaction to the latest step on his road to recovery and it is now hoped he could return in time for the Capital One Cup final against Sunderland on March 2. City boss Manuel Pellegrini gave nothing away about Nasris fitness in his press conference on Tuesday but did give his backing to Stevan Jovetic to fill in for the former Arsenal man while he is sidelined. Pellegrini said: Hes a mix. Hes not absolutely a attacker, he can be a midfielder. He played a lot of games for Fiorentina behind the striker or on the left wing. He can replace Samir Nasri or Sergio Aguero. He has both things and thats very important for the team.
