Samir Nasri will be given a second chance to prove himself at Manchester City by new manager Manuel Pellegrini. Nasri has endured an up and down first two seasons at the Etihad Stadium after being lured from Arsenal by former City boss Roberto Mancini. And there has been speculation that the French international may be sold to accommodate the clutch of new attacking players being brought to the club this summer. But it is understood that Pellegrini – who only officially joined City at the end of last week – has already told sporting director Txiki Begiristain that he sees a future for Nasri if he wishes to stay. City have already signed Spanish winger Jesus Navas and are currently fighting with Real Madrid for the signature of Malaga attacker Isco. But despite this Pellegrini has made it clear he thinks Nasri has something to offer as he looks to build a squad capable of fighting with holders Manchester United for the Barclays Premier League title next season.
