Sammy, former resident from YMCALondonSouthWest, explains what #YMCA means to her: I moved into the YMCA in 2007, where I stayed for two and a half years. Being only 18 at the time I was young and wild with no worries or fears, I didnt care about anything except for partying and being free... The YMCA however taught me to calm down and take care of my responsibilities. After I moved out of the YMCA I went on to live in another two hostels and in that time gave birth to a beautiful little boy whos now 4 years old and a beautiful little girl aged 3. I now live in a three bedroom house and I am currently studying counselling at level 2 which I finish in four weeks and plan to move on to level 3. I work the rest off the week escorting autistic children to and from school which I find very rewarding. Im finally content in my life and will always look back at the great memories and opportunities I was giving whilst living in the YMCA. To top it off I met some of the nicest people who Im still friends with to this day... I will never forget the great staff who helped me through some off my toughest years and kept me heading in the right direction. What can I say - the YMCA was an adventure I will never forget!
