Sammy update: saw the vet. Sammy is anemic and has lost weight. He will need fluids tonight and to be hand fed until he puts on weight. Issues: chronic inflammation inside his mouth and a cold. Given an injection and meds. Stomatitis is chronic immune disorder so this will be ongoing issue w/mouth. Unfortunately steroid injections to combat mouth pain/inflammation can lead to diabetes. His blood work looked good today. He is in good spirits and most importantly, hes in a home where he wont get dumped for having special needs.
