Sammys RETIREMENT Announcement It has been such a very hard decision to make & one that has been a long time coming - Terry has decided to retire his Sammy - He will be his partner at the Gilbert Rodeo (Nov 14-15) & the GCPRA Finals (Nov 21-22) & his last go round at the Finals will be his Final run - after which we will have a Retirement Party for him, as per HIS request!! Any ideas on what to do for a horse party would be welcome!! Sammy has been an amazing mount/partner to Terry - he has a crusty ole man attitude, but would give him a great shot nearly every single trip!! Anyone that had the pleasure making a run on Sammy will tell you that he put them there every time to make a winning run & most of them made money,if not, it was never his fault!! Wyatt Scott, Tyke Kipp, Brady Buum, Jason Brandy Wells, Donavon Yazzi & I know there were many more!! Please feel free to share your memories/comments!! We thank Clayton & Tommy Spencer for the opportunity to own such a great horse!! Sammys mind is still in his job & he LOVES to do his job, unfortunately it is his body that is letting him down - For those of you that dont know, Sammy has very horrible knees, he came off the track as a 4 y/o with these knees, we have been able to keep him sound, pain free & enjoying his job, but it has become to painful for him to keep him legged up & conditioned & we fear he will sustain an injury because of it - so with that being said, we will retire Sammy to pasture & he will enjoy the rest of his days being ponied on trail rides & as long as he can stand the hauls, we will take him with us to the rodeos as he hates to be left at home!!
