Sample IELTS writing task 2: Topic: The best way for a government to prepare for the future is to invest in young people. To what extent do you agree? What is the best for government to invest in young people? And here is the sample essay of one student in CNR: Preparation for the future has always been necessary. However, the way government should carry out the task is arguable as it is claimed by some that investing in the young is preparing for the future, while others disagree. This issue will be discussed below and the former idea will be shown to be true and several viable measures to it will be suggested. It cannot be denied that investment in young generations is crucial for the future. To begin with, young people determine how the future would be as they will be in charge of both the economy and the society of a country. In other words, they are the leaders of a nation in all aspects; therefore, how they are educated now has profound influences on how they will fulfill their tasks in the future. Furthermore, although some believe that it is better to improve infrastructure and technology, it is clear that the young should be able to understand the mechanisms of machines and be capable of making further advances. That is another main reason for investment in young people. As mentioned above, several ways to do this will be discussed and include educating them and providing them better health care. In the coming years, qualifications will still be required as they are today, resulting in the need for governments to encourage and help students further their study. Teaching young children social skills and nurturing their positive characteristics are also essential as flexibility is expected to play an even more important role in the future. Lastly, provision of health care for the young is another wise investment as the healthier the workforce is, the wealthier the economy will be. To put it briefly, it is crucial for government to invest in the new generations in order to ensure a better future. Despite the view that improvement in technology and infrastructure is sufficient for the future, it is much wiser to provide cheaper health care services and university courses.
