Samson Ocheng Jera, the little known Langata ODM Branch Chairman, is a dynamic businessman cum grass-rooted politician who is so dogged and passionately rooted in the dynamics of grass-root politics. He is seen here in a series of of images in the company of those who matter in Nairobi County and national politics of Kenya. Last Sunday while attending a church service , Mr. Ochieng Jera led local leaders and opinion shapers in giving their unequivocal endorsement to Mr. Eliud Owalo. to run for the Kibra parliamentary seat in 2017. It was a moving moment since it was done in the capacity Voice of Salvation Healing Church in Kibra where incidentally most of the elected CORD/ODM leaders in Nairobi County attended worship prior to their election to office. The humble and fearless Ochieng Jera attributes his political strengths and abilities to fear of God and respect to the local people who gave him the power to engage with those in leadership positions. Jera also concedes his ability in organizing and mobilizing ordinary folk is due to his long faithful stint as an astute student of the Raila Odinga Political University. Jera has not run for elected office himself and remains very calm and calculated in discharging his responsibilities. He is known to weigh his words carefully. Those who saw him in church consulting and endorsing Owalo, know he meant every word he said.
