Samundar- A service for Humanity - Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad Providing chilled free drinking water to the public, as part of serving the people just cause of the humanity, local street vendors and some philanthropists joined hands together for a purpose. The Purpose now taken a shape and become SUMANDAR (sea) Free Drinking water Facility which cater about 50,000 glass of Water per day to thirsty who can’t afford mineral water, soft drink, or any juice. When ask a donor about their service, he just replied me by reminding the following Hadeet: The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said, “The best charity is to give people a drink of water.” (Ahmad, An-Nasaa’i and Ibn Maajah). They are providing the facility 24X7 without failing since 30 years under the chairmanship of Cool man ‘Shahnawaz Khan’. The technology they use to maintain the temperature is indigenous. Air coolers and stone dust are placed between pots. A part from that they do conventional purifying process. Even the wastewater is disposed of carefully. The volunteers are the general public and students. They come for Bus and serve the needy till their arrival of city bus. The Operators proudly says the facility becomes “Neki ka Zariya’ to all. I really impressed with their services, when I was student I too use to have drink water from “Samundar” many times. Today after visiting this place I recall beautiful quote “We are not born for the sake of ourselves, we are born for the sake of others.” ~ E. Swedenborg. We need more hands to come forward to serve for Humanity. Serve Humanity is the part of nature of every human Being because of way to Heaven. Some people who feel for doing something better for Humanity are having special ability and God Gifted.
