San Diego Padres have acquired RHP Shawn Kelley from the New York Yankees in exchange for minor league RHP Johnny Barbato. Kelley went 3-6 with a 4.53 ERA in 59 relief appearances this season. Barbato went 2-2 with a 2.87 ERA & 16 saves in 18 opportunities in the Double-A this season. Philadelphia Phillies & Cincinnati Reds were reportedly close to a trade that wouldve sent Marlon Byrd to Cincinnati, but the deal fell through. It is unclear of any other players that were part of the deal. Byrd hit .264 (156-591) with 25 home runs & 85 RBI in 154 games this season.
