San Francisco 49ers: Levis Stadium will use NFLs Strict Bag Policy at all Events San Jose Mercury News (08/13/14) Leung, Diamond Levis Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers football team, will use the National Football Leagues (NFL) strict bag policy for all events. This will include events at the stadium that have nothing to do with the NFL team. Santa Clara Stadium Authority, which operates the stadium, says the policy was instituted after being cleared by public safety officials. The new policy--which was initially implemented in response to the Boston Marathon bombing--prohibits fans from bringing in bags and backpacks, with some exceptions. Attendees are permitted to carry clear plastic bags of certain sizes, which are distributed for $10 at the entrance. So far, some fans appear unaware the policy will be in effect at non-NFL events. As a result, a recent soccer match resulted in a large number of bags being checked and some fans reporting waits as long as 45 minutes to retrieve their bags.
