San Francisco has a housing shortage, and we need to address it in a significant way. Were doing so in various forms, e.g., building more affordable housing, beginning to allow in-law units. But, the good ole fashioned way - adding more housing supply so people have a place to live - is an essential part of the solution. We currently have over 50,000 new units in the pipeline in the coming years, including well-planned transit-oriented housing and large new developments at Hunters Point Shipyard, Park Merced, and Treasure Island. This is a move in the right direction.
