San Mateo Medical Center Volunteer Luncheon June 19, 2014 at San Mateo Medical Centers Mallary Garden San Mateo County Board Supervisor Carole Groom presented a commendation to the volunteers of San Mateo Medical Center for extensive service at the San Mateo Medical Center, the invaluable contributions made by volunteers and the dedication exhibited have made a positive impact on the lives of countless San Mateo County residents. There were 40 volunteers who were recognized and some of them have been volunteering for over 30 years! Our volunteers are an important part of the care team who embrace all those we serve. - Glynis Carreira, San Mateo Medical Center Volunteer Coordinator. All present had a great time listening to the fabulous voice of a grateful patient, and professional musician Terry Elbert, who dedicated Stand by Me and more to the volunteers who cared for him during his recovery.
