San Quentin State Prison inmates are helping prepare for life after prison through Alliance for Change, a program whose mission is to facilitate the healthy and safe reintegration of incarcerated men and women back into society. ABC 7s Ama Daetz visited San Quentin recently to check out Alliance for Change, which teaches inmates practical skills that will prepare them for success in the community, while also incorporating principles of restorative justice to get the men thinking about the causes and effects of their criminal behavior. What I hope is that people will learn that they have a stake in the community abroad, in that through civil engagement, they will become a part, more of a part, a positive part of society, inmate Isaiah Thompson told Daetz.
